Navigate Through Sentosa Effortlessly

Posted by: Norazreen binti Abd Haris

During our visit to Sentosa, we discovered that the island is divided into a few different stations. These stations are known as:

  • Sentosa Station
  • Waterfront Station
  • Imbiah Station
  • Beach Station

So here’s the breakdown on what these different stations had to offer!

Sentosa Station
Basically, this station is located at Vivo City, Lobby L, Level 3 as mentioned in our previous post. It is also the first station for the monorail. From this station, you may board the monorail to enter Sentosa. Besides this, it is also possible for you to take the bus there.

Upon boarding the bus or train, you will then be transported to the Waterfront station which is the newest station in Sentosa.

Waterfront Station
In my opinion, it is one of the main stations and attractions in Sentosa among youths these days. Various source of entertainment can be found here. You can easily spend your whole day at this very station without getting bored. Some of the major attractions available are the S.E.A Oceanarium, Universal Studios Singapore, Hard Rock Hotel as well as the Adventure Cove.

Imbiah Station
Imbiah Station is the third station in total. While there is transportation provided, it is also possible for you to just walk to get here.  During our visit, it was rather quiet. However, we felt that this may not necessarily be bad as the station focuses a lot on the environment and scenery. Here, you can find a variety of plants all around the area. There is also a replica of the Merlion which you can get up close to without having to pay at all. The attractions here include the Cable Car Ride and Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom.

A downside however, you may get trapped at this station if the weather is wet as there was not many shelters available and there is also a lack of covered walkway.

Beach Station
Similar to the name of the station, this station is probably the best station for picnic and those who enjoy being at the beach.  Mainly, there are three beaches for you to choose from depending on your preferences. They are Palawan Beach, Siloso Beach and Tanjong Beach.

Palawan Beach
During our visit to Sentosa, we decided to visit the Palawan Beach. It is probably the most family friendly beach in Sentosa. The atmosphere was rather relaxing and the scenery was nice too. The water was clear and there was also a suspension bridge at the beach. According to Sentosa’s official website, the suspension bridge is linked to Asia’s closest point to the Equator.

However, we felt that more can be done to improve the pathways along the beach as it got flooded quickly once it rained.

Siloso Beach
Siloso Beach is well-known among youths and is probably the liveliest beach in Sentosa. You can also try out various different beach activities here such as kayaking, rollerblading and cycling here. The fun at Siloso Beach does not quickly too. You can enjoy yourself further at night as music and parties taking over almost every night.

Tanjong Beach
This is probably the most romantic beach in Sentosa especially in the evening and at night. As mentioned in Sentosa’s official website, you can simply enjoy the tranquillity of the beach and spend time peacefully with your partners or friends by staring at the stars or the lights coming from nearby ships.

 Quick Tip

  • Always check on the weather condition before planning your activities in Sentosa.
  • Taking the monorail to get from one station to the other once you are in Resorts World Sentosa is probably the best way to navigate. (Not required to pay fare unless you board the monorail at Sentosa Station, Vivo City)
Quick and Easy: The monorail allows you to get to stations quickly without much hassle. It also provides free rides to those who are already in the island. Photo credit: Norazreen binti Abd Haris
