Here’s some good news! If you stay near Jurong East, it has never been easier to get to Johor Bahru (JB). While Bugis, Woodlands and Kranji terminals may be the popular choices among those who would like to get to JB, taking Service 160 from Jurong East Bus Interchange may be a refreshing change to your journey.

Say goodbye to long waiting times!
Unlike the usual Singapore-Johor bus services, passengers on Service 160 do not have to wait for the majority of seats to be occupied before the bus leaves the terminal. Instead, the bus follows a schedule and departs immediately after everyone in the queue has boarded the bus.

Easy Payment and Comfortable Journey
You can also pay for the bus fare using your ez-link card or cash. However, I feel that it will be better if you pay using ez-link since this will save you from the trouble of keeping the ticket and having to take it out repeatedly for checks along the journey.

Other than that, the buses are usually of the older models and have more standing area, seats for the passengers as well as cooler air-conditioning. The journey to Woodlands Checkpoint is also relaxing and quick since there weren’t many bus stops compared to its counterpart Service 170 from Bugis.

Possible to Switch to Service 170
You can also switch buses at Woodlands Checkpoint later on! In case there is no Service 160 available at the checkpoint or if you have missed your bus, you can switch to Service 170 without incurring additional fare at all.

Drop off at JB checkpoint
Once you’ve past the JB Checkpoint, you can decide to walk to the nearest shopping mall, City Square through JB Central which is directly connected to the checkpoint or to get back to the bus and head for Kotaraya 2.

From JB Checkpoint, it will only take around 5 minutes for you to reach City Square. Don’t worry about the rain! The walkway is fully sheltered.
Walking Distance: JB Checkpoint is located strategically and now closer to one of the more popular malls in JB, City Square. Visitors can easily walk there after getting their passport stamped at the immigration.
